Orange Patterned Set

Gooooood afternoon!

I'm running off of a lot of caffeine right now, but I still feel exhausted. Contemplating a nap once I finish my next meeting.

Today, I'm sharing a new piece with you all. I was at Goodwill this past weekend and got this gorgeous orange patterned skirt for $5. I really was about to pass it up, but I caved and bought it, and I'm so happy I did. As you can tell from the images below, the skirt is quite large on me, but that means it's perfect for a matching set.

Honestly, I don't really remember much of the process of making this set. My brain kind of went on auto pilot. My brain has been on auto pilot for a while now... I'm not mad because at least things are getting done, but I need to work on not feeling so emotionally detached from things. I have a very strong tendency to just dissociate lately. My body also feels oddly drained and lethargic. I think I need to work on sleeping better (i.e. not waking up in the middle of the night). Also, my body is probably fatigued from my new workout routine.

Anyways, below are some process pics.

I used a denim skirt from my closet as a pattern. I also ended up adding eyelets to the back with a string to tighten the band. I was able to keep the lining in tact, so I'm really proud of this piece. The craftsmanship is a lot better than my previous pieces. I've been kind of toying with the idea of selling my pieces, but I don't know if my upcoming schedule will allow that.

Below are pictures of the final piece :-). I will definitely be wearing this out. The skirt is my absolute favorite.
