Blue Cheetah Dress

This is going to be a short post because I just drank a lot of coffee and my mind is absolutely racing. I will do a Headspace meditation really quick and come back...

(I can barely finish this meditation)

Wow I have a coffee date in 2 hours, and I have no idea how I'm going to be able to survive drinking any more caffeine. Anyways, I don't have a cool, insightful intro today. I've really been enjoying my "me time" as of late. I think it's a good sign that I'm healing from my relationship trauma and my need to have male validation (in a romantic sense). My love life has been very messy lately. I don't know if it's the Sag, Leo, or Virgo in me (probably a combination of all 3), but I thrive off of chaos. Another interesting update in my life is I'm listening to Blowback season 2 on Cuba. I know a lot about Cuban healthcare and a bit about the Cuban revolution, but I wanna be more informed because Cuba and the U.S. embargo have been a huge topic lately.

Anyhoo, I started this piece a while ago. Maybe 2 months ago? But I only just finished it haha.

I thrifted this blue cheetah midi skirt which is SO cute. I just don't see myself wearing a blue cheetah skirt like that. I barely wear my regular cheetah midi skirt.

It was way too big on me, but for sewing, the bigger the better. I need material for my f ups!

Also side note, aren't my blue light glasses so cute? If I ever cut my hair into a bob, I'd definitely look like Edna Mode from the Incredibles. Honestly, with all the sewing I've been doing lately, I'm basically Edna Mode.

I don't remember what I intended to make out of this skirt. I did end up making a dress out of it. My inspiration was Kim Shui's wrap dresses. This fabric of this dress is pretty stiff, like chiffon, so it was interesting to make such a form fitting dress out of it.

I don't have much to comment on the sewing process. I did end up using 2 independent sewing sessions to finish this. I've been doing that a lot recently because it helps keep me from rushing to finish and being careless in the process. But COME ONNNNN!!! Look at how good this dress looks!!!! I love myself.
